PHotoEspana is now receiving submissions for Descubrimeintos PHE, the Festival’s portfolio review. This program offers photographers the opportunity to show their work to curators and editors specialized in photography. Descubrimientos PHE has taken place in Madrid since 1998, and this year with the support of the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) reviews will also be held in Lima and Mexico DF.
Descubrimientos PHE Madrid invites photographers of all nationalities, ages and photographic disciplines to submit their work. The artists selected to participate in the activity will be able to show their work to eight photography professionals and participate in a collective show that will form part of the Official Section of PHotoEspaña 2009.
Descubrimientos PHE Lima and Descubrimientos PHE Mexico DF are open to all photographers residing in Latin America. The artists selected to participate in the review will show their work to the panel of reviewers. And, the Instituto Cervantes will name a curator to select some of the photographers to participate in a collective show that we be held at the Sede del Instituto Cervantes en Madrid during PHotoEspaña 2009, and will travel to other Instituto Cervantes venues worldwide in 2010.
All of the Descubrimientos PHE Madrid, Lima, Mexico DF participants will have a chance at the Descubrimientos PHE Epson Award, consisting in an individual exhibition in PHotoEspaña 2010. Furthermore, their images and curricular information will be included in the Descubrimientos PHE Guide, which serves as reverence for the press and Festival guests.
